On January 2, the Solemnity of the Epiphany, the St. Anselm's Abbey Oblates welcomed seven new members. At a special rite during Mass, Abbot James Wiseman received their oblations as they "offered themselves to Almighty God as Oblates of St. Anselm's Abbey." After a year of novitiate, they have joined the community of Oblates, a group of lay men and women who dedicate themselves to the service of God and others, applying the Rule of St. Benedict in their everyday lives. Let us pray that these new Oblates will be blessed with the help of God's grace as they "walk in His paths by the guidance of the Gospel" and bring the Benedictine spirit to all of their interactions.
