Fr. Boniface, Oblate Director, and Matthew Ouimet, Oblate Prior, along with the help of a dedicated staff of St. Anselm’s oblates, welcomed nearly eighty Benedictines and their oblates from priories and parishes in Virginia, Maryland and Delaware. The Theme of the day’s reflection was The Oblate’s Role of Service to the Monastery and the Community. After the morning talk by Abbot James, reflection and a small group discussion period, the participants joined the monks for midday prayer, followed by a luncheon in the school commons prepared by our oblates Herb and Dee Brooks. Our Oblate Prior gave the afternoon talk and the day concluded with a panel of representatives from each monastery.
