A few monks participated in the 4th Annual Peter Samp Memorial 5K Run on a beautiful spring morning. The youngest was Br. Samuel Springuel (’98) who won a third place medal for his 30-39 age cohort. Br. Ignacio Gonzalez competed with those in his 40-49 age cohort. The oldest runner was Fr. Christopher, competing with 60-and-above cohort (no fair), who managed again to complete the full course in his own good time. Fr. Joseph at age 89 came to give support to the school event by walking the first lap of the course with other walkers. Also with us was Jeff Paris, a visitor from Austin, TX, discerning a monastic vocation. The picture shows the five of us still breathing easily just before the race: Br. Samuel, Jeff, Br. Ignacio, Fr. Joseph and Fr. Christopher.
