Once again St. Anselm’s offered hospitality to out-of-town participants in the Right to Life March and events surrounding it. Fr. Ralph Wright, Bro. Athanasius Soto and Stephen Oslica from St. Louis Abbey came accompanying nine students from their school. Their confrere Bro. Aidan McDermott came with two seminarians from Boston. The St. Louis contingent arrived a day early in order to visit the Holocaust Museum, and were undaunted by the beginnings of a snow storm. During the day of the vigil Mass at the Shrine, they visited Capitol Hill to deliver 100 letters urging legislators to pass laws stopping abortion. Cardinal O’Malley’s homily at the vigil Mass was inspiring and well received by the packed congregation. The thousands who participated in the March in spite of the severe cold weather added to the witness value of their treasuring life.
