The renovation of the old North Wing is finally in progress, under supervision of Coakley Williams Construction, Inc., as the general contractor. The demolition and the removal of asbestos phases have been completed. The framing of the new walls has begun. As often happens when your do demolition in old buildings you find obstacles that prevent following the plans exactly, because of structural features unknown to the architects. So far adjustment to the plans have been minimal. All things going well – weather, delivery of materials, no new surprises – the renovation should be completed early next year.
