An Alumni Day of Recollection at the Abbey, the first, was attended by 16 alumni and spouses. Fr. Peter Weigand was the celebrant and homilist at the Mass for the Saturday after Ash Wednesday. The Mass was followed with a conference by Abbot James, a quiet meditation period, lunch with the monks in the calefactory, and an afternoon conference by Fr. Michael. It is hoped that similar days like this will become an annual event that will attract more alumni to share with the monks their spiritual journey. By setting aside times of reflection and recollection we can all grow to a greater understanding of how to live the gospel more fully in our times.
