August 21, 2010
The community’s annual retreat, August 18 – 21, was conducted by Fr. Ronald Witherup, PSS, Superior General of the Order of St. Sulpice at the invitation of Prior Fr. Simon. The theme for his talks was the Christ-centered life in the writings of St. Paul and St. Benedict. Fr. Witherup’s extensive knowledge of the Pauline letters and the Rule of St. Benedict enabled him to find in them concurrences in the understanding of these two saints of the goal of the Christian life and the ways to attain it. The wisdom and insights he shared, and challenging questions he posed, were well received and appreciated by those present.
