At the invitation of Prior Simon McGurk, Abbot Notker Wolf, Abbot Primate of the Benedictine Confederation, came to St. Anselm’s for the first time while travelling and visiting other monsteries in this country. He spoke to the community about the future of Benedictine monasticism and stressed the need for each community and individual monk to be willing to change from old ways of doing things in order to survive and grow.

On the eve of his departure the community celebrated his visit with an informal festive dinner, followed by coffee and dessert in the calefactory. The Prior and community are grateful to Abbot Notker for taking time to come visit and spend these days with us.
