At the solemn Mass on this joyful solemn day Gerald Elders, Chuck Turbyfill, Colin O’Brien, and Bill Gaertner made their professions as Benedictine oblates after a novitiate year of study and prayer with the monks, oblates and Fr. Boniface von Nell, Oblate Director.   Novices may choose the name of a saint to include in the written profession document that they read from the lectern.  They go to the altar to sign the document along with the Abbot and then the document is placed under the corporal cloth on the altar during the Mass.
