April 30 - May 3, 2018

St. Anselm’s had the pleasure of hosting the annual meeting of the Union of Benedictine Presidents of American Congregations and Federations. Abbot Elias Lorenzo of St. Mary’s Abbey, Morristown, NJ, President of the American-Cassinese Congregation and of the Union, was joined at the meeting by Abbot Vincent Bataille, President of the Swiss-American Confederation, Prior Joel Macul of Christ the King Priory in Schuyler, Nebraska, representing the men’s communities not in the Confederations, Sr. Lynn Marie McKenzie of the Federation of St. Scholastica, Sr. Kerry O’Reilly of the Federation of St. Benedict, Sr. Jeanne Weber of the Federation of St. Gertrude, and Sr. Dawn Anne Mills of the Congregation of Perpetual Adoration.

The men could stay only for the one-day meeting while the sisters stayed on for three days. It was an opportunity for us to learn more about what other communities are doing to promote the Benedictine ethos in their schools and other places of ministry.
