Guest monks and students from St. Louis Abbey and Priory School were able to return home today after an unexpected stay in Washington. St. Anselm again gave them hospitality in order to participate in the events surrounding the annual Right to Life March on Friday. The severe snow storm that shut down the Washington area that evening prevented their planned return on Saturday. Br. Ignacio most generously worked with Fr. Ralph, Fr. Aidan and Br. Justin from St. Louis Abbey to make the students’ ‘waiting time’ constructive and interesting. The stay of the cook and our health care aide during the storm also greatly eased the burden on the monks to provide for the basic needs of our guests and elderly fathers. We are grateful there was no property damage or persons hurt by the storm or during the cleanup work afterwards.
