Abbot Richard Yeo, President of the English Benedictine Congregation, assisted by Abbot Gregory Polan, Abbot of Conception Abbey, Missouri, came for the ordinary fourth-year visitation of St. Anselm’s in the last week of April. During the visitation days they had interviews with the Prior, with each of the monks, with Abbot James and the Council, some lay staff members, representatives of the school administration and the school Board. The monastic community was encouraged by the President’s concluding report of the good spirit he found in the Abbey and the monks’ cooperation with those who work with them in their apostolates. It is also challenged by the President’s suggestions for areas of monastic life that could be improved. Abbot James and community are grateful to Abbot Richard and Abbot Gregory for the time and effort they put into offering this service to our community.
