The Fifth Annual Peter Samp Memorial 5K Run was held on a cool spring day, with a barbeque picnic afterwards prepared by the alumni for the runners and spectators. Among the 130 official finishers of the run-walk on the rigorous campus trails were three monks: Br. Samuel Springuel, who finished first in his age cohort of 30 – 39, Br. Ignacio Gonzalez, and Fr. Christopher Wyvill, who received an honorary award for being the oldest participant. It was a great day of challenge to the runners, for the school community and especially appreciated by the Samp family.
