Abbot James Wiseman’s most recent published article compared the life and teaching of the sixteenth-century doctor of the church St. John of the Cross and the twentieth-century Buddhist spiritual master Nyoshul Khenpo.  The article originally won first place in an international competition sponsored by a Carmelite university in Avila, Spain and was published in the proceedings of that 2024 conference.  That university also gave permission for the article to be published in the United States, so with a revised introduction it was published in the most recent issue (issue 51) of the Journal of Interreligious Studies.  Anyone wishing to read Abbot James’s piece will find it at this link:
