On Sunday afternoon, October 30, a number of monks and some friends gathered at Carroll Manor Nursing Home to celebrate with Fr. Edmund Henkels, in residence there, his 87th birthday, actually occurring the next day. His special dear friend, Mrs. Joan Castellan, provided a tasty Neapolitan cake and other refreshments for the occasion. Her daughter Susan watched with the others as he easily blew out the two lit candles on the ‘8’ and the ‘7’. He was obviously pleased with the celebration and very grateful to all who came to share the special occasion with him.
