Fr. Peter Weigand officiated, and Abbot James Wiseman gave the homily, at the Mass of Christian Burial for Helen Santini, wife of Nicholas, and mother of three alumni, Stephen (’73), David (’74), Gerard (’75) and Dominic (’82). She died a few months before her eightieth birthday not having fully recovered from a serious heart operation.

Nick and Helen regularly attended Mass at the Abbey, and Helen was happy to be occasional lector at Sunday Masses, as well as a member of the oblate choir that sang on the first Sundays of the month or when the monthly oblate meeting was scheduled. She is remembered especially for her gentle nature, her hospitality, art and poetry. Her grandchildren were her special joy and pride. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.
