November 7, 2010
This first Sunday in November thirty-some Benedictine oblates came for conventual Mass with the monks, for a conference and quiet time, for a tour of the monastery, a talk on the history of the EBC and St. Anselm’s Abbey by Fr. Michael Hall, archivist and historian, for a business meeting, and for a fine dinner prepared by Fr. Philip Simo. the Kitchen Master.
The oblate choir, directed by Mary Ann Evan, greatly enriched the music program for the Mass on this first Sunday. The oblate choir joins the monks in singing on certain feast days and at every oblate Sunday Mass, held normally on the first Sunday of the month. If you like to sing – ‘pray twice’ – let us know if you are interested in joining the choir.
