Abbot James Wiseman conducted the annual retreat for the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration in Clyde, Missouri from July 12-16. He had an article published in the American Benedictine Review in September, 2022 about polarizations in Church and society and how the wisdom of chapter 3 of the Rule of St. Benedict can effectively address such polarization. More recently, he had a shorter piece, “St. Benedict and the Raven,” published in the July-Aug. 2023 issue of Spirit and Life. From late July through the first two weeks of August he spent nearly three weeks at the Benedictine priory San José in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, learning something about the history of that land and working on his Spanish.
