St. Anselm’s is on South Dakota Avenue, two blocks north of its intersection with Michigan Avenue, where it intersects Webster opposite 14th Street. The driveway entrance is on the Webster side of South Dakota opposite 14th street. Take good care crossing South Dakota at the stop light, if you are coming from 14th Street. If you are approaching on Webster, turn right on South Dakota, and then a right up the driveway after about 50 feet.
The nearest Metro stations are both about a mile from the Abbey. For those prepared to walk, the FORT TOTTEN Metro Station on the Red line is slightly farther away, but it’s a more direct route: straight down South Dakota Avenue. The BROOKLAND/CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY OF AMERICA station on the Red line is slightly closer, but harder to navigate. Take the right hand exit out of the station to emerge at the bus throughway and parking lot. At the top of the escalator bear left to join Michigan Avenue (which descends from a bridge almost over the Metro station). Follow Michigan away from the bridge, away from Catholic University, along Turkey Thicket Park, for about 8 blocks until 14th street for a turn left. After approximately 200 yards, the entrance to the Abbey can be seen across South Dakota Avenue.
The R4 BUS leaves from outside the BROOKLAND/CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY OF AMERICA station and takes the same route. Get off at 14th street and make a left turn from the direction of the bus onto 14th Street. After approximately 200 yards, the entrance to the Abbey can be seen across South Dakota Avenue.
